Hi, I’m Paige Gore (She/Her)
Offering to you that which I received.Â
Before I became a therapist, I was attending therapy myself. I have experienced the power of being seen for all that I am, without judgement, and the transformation that can happen when in this type of relationship with another. Having experienced it myself, I am equipped to offer that to you. My life experiences have prepared me to work with people from diverse backgrounds, and I deeply value making therapy an inclusive experience for all.

A little about my professional training.
I graduated with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in Washington state. I am a Limited Licensed Counselor (LLC) in Michigan and work under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).Â

My counseling training is rooted in the belief that people are formed, wounded, and healed in relationship. My clinical skills have been informed by relational and psychodynamic theory, embodied and integrative practices, and deep personal transformation.Â

I have been trained in Level II of Narrative Focused Trauma Care through the Allender Center. This integrative approach heals the whole person from trauma and abuse by engaging body, mind, and soul. Through this training, I am uniquely equipped to explore stories of relationships, family dynamics, sexual development, and experiences of abuse at both a personal and collective level.Â

About Therapy
Be open to the unexpected.Â
Often what brings someone in to therapy is a pressing issue on the surface, but there is often more than meets the eye. The cultures in which we come from impact how we show up in the world, how we relate to others, and how we perceive the events happening to us. Therapy tends to uncover layer upon layer of who you are as a person, leading to unexpected understandings of yourself. Healing often comes as a surprise.Â
Â
The magic of therapy is in being known.Â
Much like sitting in front of a mirror, therapy will reflect back uncomfortable and unknown realities about you and the way you relate to others. Therapists are trained to listen on many different levels. This deep listening provides an experience of being known and deeply seen, which is often an experience missing in interactions with others. Where one is seen without judgement, shame diminishes. Here lies the magic.Â
Â
What it’s like to sit with me.Â
Most people first notice my grounded presence. I am able to sit with people in extremely difficult dynamics while maintaining a calm presence. I have been told that my perspective brings life to an otherwise dull world. Once a stranger myself, I will approach you with openness, creating expansive space for you to just be you, and will remain curious about your experience.Â
Â
The process of trusting.
Over the first few sessions, I will spend time getting to know you. We will slowly build trust as you find the courage to be vulnerable. I will not offer quick fixes or give advice, but I will make space for you to confront your fears and to be curious about yourself. With time, you will grow the capacity to sit with the uncomfortable and the unknown. Finding an immediate solution will become less important as your tolerance for challenging emotions increases.Â
Â
I will support your inner capacity to heal.Â
I approach every session as if it is the first one and let you be the guide of where we go each time. I do not have an agenda for what we talk about and I do not assign homework outside of sessions. Instead, your experiences, perspectives, and thoughts provide the content for each session. I believe that you have all you need to heal and that this capacity will grow from within you, not from any tools or techniques that I have to offer. I am your guide and will be a supportive companion along the way.Â
